ADS Scanner
On devices formatted with the file system NTFS, so-called Alternate Data Streams (short: ADS) can be attached to files and directories. Since it is almost impossible to verify files with attached ADS nor tell their exact size, those data streams normally stay hidden. Due to this ability, ADS may be used to infiltrate and infect your system with viruses and Trojans.
The ADS Scanner
How to work with the ADS scanner The ADS scanner is quite simple to operate. Just select a device you wish to scan via select NTFS drives, click on scan and the module starts scanning for hidden ADS streams right away. The detected streams will be displayed in the results window together with detailed information about their name, size and storage location. Just click on the respective line to receive a more detailed description of the stream (if available) underneath the results window. Should you wish to remove the stream, just mark it with the mouse and click on delete stream.
