Automatic

The option Automatic is the sophisticated agreement between faster performance and a high security level. All files will be scanned except for certain data types (avi, bmp, mov, mp3, mp4, mpeg, mpg, ogg, tif, tiff, wav, wma) which are considered to be safe from infections.

All files

This mode is the most secure but slowest way of scanning your files. It offers the greatest protection because every single file will be under examination.

Only scan the following file formats

Ashampoo Anti-Malware proposes a list of formats which are at risk the most. This list can be modified by  adding or deleting types. Edit your own selection by separating the formats with semicolon or comma.

Scan all files- with the exception of the following files

This is an amplification of the Automatic mode. Ashampoo Anti-Malware proposes a list of file formats which are considered to be safe from infections again, but you can edit this list by adding or deleting types. The file types have to be separated by semicolon or comma to be worked up by your computer.

Tip: The file filter accelerates the scan seriously but avoids a full system scan. There is a safety risk due to erroneous or missing entries, some infection might not be detected. These options should be altered only by experienced users.
