Engine
A so-called (scan-) engine can best be described as a search method (or routine) employed by Ashampoo Anti-Malware to scan your system for malicious software. By default, Ashampoo Anti-Malware uses two engines to operate this process, one to scan the system for spyware, and the other one to scan the system for viruses. Of course you are free to select just one engine (either Anti-Spyware or Anti-Virus), thereby speeding up the program’s scan process. If you do so you should keep in mind that by switching one or the other engine of, the respective areas will no longer be protected and pose a security risk.
Identify and report riskware Riskware is computer software, which actually was not programmed and intended as malware, but has security critical functions. These functions can be used to start or stop computer processes or computer services. In same cases (i.e. Passwortgrabber, web server, etc.) these application are useful and worth keeping them. Before doing so, get the latest information from the internet to avoid needless risks.
